1975
The founding
Kuno Gerber, with entrepreneurial courage and industry knowledge, lays the foundation for KGW Gerber Edelstähle in Witten. The business begins: trade and distribution of stainless and acid-resistant steel sheets and strips.
1980
Your own foundation
The move to today's headquarters at Mewer Ring in Witten creates the spatial capacities for its own warehouse and lays the foundation for future growth and expanded processing.
2009
expansion to the south
With the opening of the branch in Untersteinach, Bavaria, KGW strategically positions itself in a second strong industrial region and ensures short distances and personal proximity for customers throughout Germany.
2011
Secure future
Kai Bützler takes over the management. The successful generational change is a strong signal for continuity and long-term stability – the founder's values are preserved and led into the future with modern service structures.
